This regional French jewelry originated in the Normandy region in the mid-18th century and quickly evolved into many and distinct forms. The style was originally popular between 1750 and 1820 but found a revival around 1872 which this choker originates. They are always hollow and decorated with diamond-like faceting. This choker has a hook in front to add a cross or any pendant that you prefer. We have it pictured with a watch fob to show its versatility. It can also be worn without. An exceptional 19th-century Victorian find and perfect for today's times as well as the avid collector.
